Another time, another new faces with the same passion on side stream music in Palembang emerge. The big catharsis and how delighted we are. The circle of friendship is the main reason of how particular music projects keep coming and we highly celebrated it. Latch born from the same identical womb, the circle of friends and ideas. Latch, these are brand new ‘kids on the block’ from Palembang that consist of Ferry (guitar), Farid (bass), and Dini (vocal). They agreed to form a musical collab that embrace dreampop as its core genre. Established in the middle of 2021, Latch already released 3 (three) single through their bandcamp page. There are “Chaotic World”, “Disappearing Fireworks”, and “Tidal Blues” as the first mark of their musical journey, until in the middle of 2022 they finish their work on the first EP.

Being picked as EP’s name, “Saccharine Sun” consists of 6 (six) songs full of ‘dreamy’ nuance, composed yet melancholy guitars, and sentimental vocal harmonic. In this EP, Latch took quite complex narration on its lyrical department. Something about the dynamic of mere human relationship, perplexity on maturity, some others about lost-and-found love cliché. EP’s name choice also becoming their focus, “Saccharine Sun” represent the deep emotional feeling with bursting light of hope cling on it.
