hara – Kebun Terakhir

After releasing her first single Ati Bolong in October 2020, hara is finally back with her new single ‘Kebun Terakhir’ (The Last Garden). This song is part of her upcoming debut EP titled ‘Kenduri’ which will be having its digital release on 7 June 2021. Kenduri is hara’s first mini album. The songs in this EP are inspired by hara’s effort to look for hope amidst the pandemic in which she found it through her garden. Kenduri EP invites listeners to visit hara’s garden through her music.

Kebun Terakhir (The Last Garden) tells a story about hope, as frail as it is, that is always present even in moments of grief. Inspired by the struggles of Indonesian farmers to defend their land, in this song hara explores land/garden/‘kebun’ as the last field of struggle to grow hope. Kebun Terakhir is an ambient-folk track that is imbued with nature and human soundscapes, a feature unique to hara’s music. hara is a solo project of Rara Sekar (previously in Banda Neira and Daramuda). In hara, Rara experiments more musically and conceptually using multi-disciplinary approaches.
