Filler – Crippled Zone/Drowning Visual
Preview Track: Crippled Zone
Filler is a musical collective formed and based in Yogyakarta. This collective consists of Adwian Prio (Drums), Aldrin Yudha (Bass), Hilman (Vocals), Yoga C.K. (Guitar), and Yogi S.A. (Guitar). In creating music, they’re inspired by various sounds which emerge from different eras. Starting from the early plantation of punk aesthetic to its each harvesting season celebrated by the newer generations. However, Filler doesn’t want to be trapped only inside of its bubble of musical reference. What they want for the music they create is how it still amplifies emotional unity between its members and messages they wish to amplify.
This year, Filler released two songs titled Crippled Zone and Drowning Visual.
These songs are meant to tell flows of one’s alienation. The alienated have given up, accepting the fact of their failure. An acknowledgement for each of life’s dots are constantly moving from and to every direction. A pattern that hooks the past, present, and future. Realizing that someday all of it will stop on a certain dot and everything will be repeated, nothing’s gonna be extinct. Life-will-never-find-its-end. Each of those feelings are radiated in the form of houses, hiking tracks, lakes, hills, mountains… drowning and crawling out to repeat the same state of exhaustion.

“Behind the rhythmic instrumentations and lyrics, is a nostalgic feeling. Filler manages to showcase a familiar sound with an interesting approach.”
