    The debut of one of the best and most consistent local hip hop beatsmiths. Embarking on a journey with D’Army in the mid-2000s, Fajar or Jay as he is familiarly known, has for more than a decade carried the dark, gritty grimmy boombap banner influenced by DJ Muggs, DJ Lethal, early-era Dr.Dre, DJ Premier and the Bomb Squad. His long list of works speaks volumes especially when it comes to the group that made his name, Eyefeelsix. Along with DJ Evil Cutz and Morgue Vanguard, Jaydawn is part of the production unit Napalm Squad, making him an important figure behind some of Grimloc’s hip hop albums, including \u201cSwagton Nirojim\u201d and “9051”, not to mention remixes for groups like Homicide and Efek Rumah Kaca. This EP is a prelude to what his following album will sound like. \u201cDarkest Dawn Ahead\u201d is a collection of short, compact beat tapes in the tradition of Dilla’s \u201cDonuts\u201d or The Alchemist’s \u201cRapper’s Best Friend”.<\/p>\n
